Choosing and reviewing providers
How to find, compare and change NDIS providers
Finding and comparing NDIS providers means looking at what will work in your day. Availability, communication, experience and reliability can all influence whether support suits you. Provider reviews can add useful context, while a conversation helps you confirm the details that matter before starting or changing a service.
Here you will find guides to finding providers, questions to ask before starting a service and perspectives on reviewing the support you receive. The collection covers both an initial search and the decisions that come later, when you are working out whether a service still fits.
Write down what matters most to you. You might need someone who understands a particular communication approach, can travel to your area or offers appointments at workable times. Ask who will actually deliver the service and what happens if that person is away. Discuss your preferences directly rather than assuming they will be included.
Provider reviews can help you identify questions worth asking. Look at the experience described, the date and whether it relates to the service you need. A review gives one person's perspective; your own discussion with the provider is still important.
Families and carers can help compare options while keeping the participant involved. Support coordinators can explain alternatives and help clarify practical arrangements. In either case, make space for the person's own priorities, including how comfortable they feel with the proposed support.
Check the NDIA's provider guidance for the registration requirements that apply to your funding arrangements and support type. Confirm prices, service terms and availability before agreeing to start.
Choosing a provider is the beginning of a working relationship. Use the articles here to prepare questions, make an informed comparison and review how support is going once it begins. If your needs change, those same questions can help you decide what to discuss or reconsider.
