Shall we cut right to the chase? We think we should…
We’re thrilled to announce that Clickability has been named a recipient of Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) grant funding in the ACT! The NDIA loves what we’re doing and has chosen us to help develop the NDIS in the ACT. As you might have guessed, this means we’re currently exploring expansion into the nation’s capital.
Although it’s a while away just yet, we’re passionate about linking ACT residents with information that they can use to navigate services in and outside their region. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been investigating.

What is ILC?

The NDIS has two parts, including individually funded packages (or plans) and the ILC. However, where packages obviously go to individuals, ILC grants are awarded to organisations to carry out activities in the community.
Its vision, and ours, is to develop connections between people with disability and their communities, increasing the independence, social and community participation of people with a disability.
Clickability’s ILC grant is specifically for the development of such programs and activities in the ACT.

What does this mean for Clickability and you?

The ILC grant means we can begin exploring a roll-out to the ACT to support people with disability. As well as making our website available there, we would
  • run workshops to help both consumers and service providers enact consumer rights and responsibilities
  • collect and analyse data to support market development
  • ensure our website is accessible for all Australians, especially those with psychosocial and intellectual disability
We firmly believe that reviewing is central to a consumer’s rights and responsibilities and that such feedback can influence the disability sector and give people with disability a voice.
We’re so pleased to be able to introduce our platform in the ACT in the near future. We want to help there be more transparent information and better quality service, because, at the end of the day, this empowers consumers.

We’re proud that the NDIA recognises what we’re doing as central to the development of the NDIS marketplace, and we hope you’ll come on the journey with us!

Through all this, we aim to influence mainstream services to be more welcoming and accessible to all Australians.
So, ACT, we’ll be seeing you soon!

Use current information for a service choice in the ACT

Check which providers serve your location and whether their present service meets your requirements. A historical expansion announcement explains the platform’s development, but it cannot confirm a provider’s current capacity. Read specific reviews and discuss the tasks and arrangements you need.

Community information programs can complement individual support. Current government information about ILC reform explains the broader program changes; a grant to an organisation is not money available in your own plan.

Treat feedback as information that can improve the service

Invite accessible, honest feedback and explain how concerns will be followed up. Do not imply government approval merely because a platform once received a grant. Keep current service descriptions, locations and availability accurate, and distinguish promised future activity from what is operating now.

Questions readers ask

Does the historical grant endorse every listed provider?

No. The announcement concerns a particular historical project.
